My paternal grandfather was James WILKS b. 1856 Shoreditch, East London and maternal grandfather was Allen HALLWORTH b. 1874 Norbury Moor, Cheshire. Both moved with families to Watford about 1910 - James to set up a cycle business in Beechen Grove, Watford and Allen moved with British Rail to work at Stonebridge Park, near Watford. Thomas Henry WILKS b. 1900 married Eleanor HALLWORTH b. 1905 in St. Michaels Church, Watford in 1932. Would appreciate contact with any descendants or associates. Bob Wilks, south Wales.

      Bob Wilkes:
...From my personal point of view there is a ghastly mistake in the 1881 at 3486-123-60. Head is 30 year old Isaac with his wife Elizabeth - my great grandparents. They were married on 11.8.1872 so the step-son of Isaac, 12 year old John Harrison was born to the Miss Elizabeth HARRISON before her marriage. But for reasons which are not clear, their 2 genuine children, 6 year old Allen and 1 year old Alice are more correctly Hallworths, not Harrisons. Allen my grandfather, and for that matter also his sister, Alice, were both well known to me in the 1940's - 60's before their deaths.
